The “Membaca Soedjatmoko, Mencari Indonesia” initiative is dedicated to preserving and making accessible the writings of Soedjatmoko, a visionary thinker who passed away decades ago. Known as a mental explorer, Soedjatmoko refused to be confined by any single ideology. Instead, he continuously navigated between different values, adapting to the contexts he addressed. Throughout his life, Soedjatmoko authored over 300 manuscripts from 1948 to 1989, all of which are housed in our collection.
Our program aims to enrich the literary resources available to the younger generation, who will one day lead our nation into the future. It is my responsibility to ensure that the profound thoughts and writings of this dedicated Indonesian thinker, who ceaselessly contemplated the betterment of his nation and humanity, continue to inspire and impact positively. Soedjatmoko’s work should remain a vital source of knowledge for young minds as they seek to shape our collective future. This initiative guarantees that his legacy endures, providing valuable insights for those striving to find their way towards a brighter tomorrow.
